R Stamp

Peña’s Mechanical has authorization from the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors for shop and field repairs and alterations to metallic pressure retaining mechanisms. We adhere strictly to the National Board Inspection Code and Jurisidictional Rules. Our certification enables us to work with boilers, pressure vessels, piping systems and more.

This precise knowledge enables us to provide a superior product for our customers that not only accomplishes their objectives, but also keeps people safe and equipment running in good order.

Back Flow Preventers

Did you know that the law requires back flow preventers to be inspected every 6 to 12 months? And for good reason — failed back flow preventers can cause extensive damage to public and private property. Keeping them in good working order helps the community and saves your business great expense over time.

Peña’s Mechanical is licensed to inspect, install and repair back flow preventers. We specialize in three common types: single check, double check and reducing-pressure. Call today for service or installation.

Pipe Line Freezing & Hot Tapping

Ideally valves are the best way to isolate a pipe for repair or alteration. Alternatively, when valves are non-existent, options include pipe freezing or performing a “hot tap”.

Freezing involves the use of Liquid Nitrogen or CO2 to create an ice plug inside the pipeline. Once formed, the plug is able to withstand very high differential pressures and create an isolated section of pipe that can be modified or repaired. That means that critical sections of a pipe system can remain online during repairs of smaller branches.

“Hot tapping” a pipe involves specialized tooling to add a new branch onto a live pipe.

Call Peña’s today to see if one of these application will work for you.

Ultrasonic Flow Meter

When precise measurement and reliable data are needed, Peña’s Mechanical has the expertise to measure the flow in your piping system. Using our ultrasonic measuring equipment, we can do this without any cutting or modifications to your pipes. We’ve provided our metering services to many industries including water utilities, food/drink, building services, oil/gas providers, pharmaceutical companies, energy management, power plants, manufacturing and photochemical.

Applications include:

  • Hydraulic systems
  • Leak detection
  • Energy system audits
  • Pump verification
  • Process control
  • Fire systems
  • Boiler testing
  • Metering
  • Chemical addition
